And how is this only applicable to the Trial Court Judges and not to the High Court & Supreme Court judges who today are far more responsible for denying personal liberty? Bail not jail which was the essence of criminal jurisprudence is now only confined to the statute books.

Terrible state of affairs in Delhi. In no other State is a Minister so helpless and does a Secretary refuse to reply to complaints sent by the Minister. In this video, the Secretary refuses site inspection and says we will decide post the meeting. The chain of accountability is broken.

Indian Railways flip-flops between luxury facilities and mass travel needs
As the government brags about its superfast trains, millions of poor commuters squeeze into dirty, falling-apart coaches.
The government’s apparent failure to ensure passenger safety has been compounded by its flip-flop on ensuring comfortable and dignified travel for the working class, which comprises the largest section of passengers using the Indian Railways. Passengers from economically weaker sections regularly travel in dilapidated sleeper-class coaches with no air conditioning and filthy bathrooms. Images of passengers sleeping in the aisles or near the toilets, and many sitting or standing for long hours on long-distance hauls have been widely shared on social media.

‘Lame excuse’ to ‘waking up late’: Letters show L-G, AAP govt tussle’s shadow on Delhi flood control
A political slugfest has followed the coaching centre deaths. The letters
In a letter on May 20, Bharadwaj directed Kumar to send a status report on desilting of drains under the irrigation and flood control department, municipal bodies and the public works department. The minister had sought information within a week on the timeline for completion of desilting work apart from its current status.
In the absence of a response for 15 days, the minister wrote another letter to the chief secretary on June 5, seeking the same information within a day.
“You will recall that last year Delhi had faced severe water logging during monsoon season. From our past experience, all the concerned departments must be proactive this year to avoid repetition of such a situation in Delhi but not much preparations have been noticed till date,” the letter read, adding that desilting is crucial to avoid waterlogging.
“It’s been 15 days since i asked for the status report but neither have you submitted the status report nor have you sent any response to my UO (unofficial) note. This is unexpected from a senior IAS officer,” it stated.
This time, Kumar responded the same day, saying that he had asked the head of the department and the additional chief secretary of the urban development department for necessary action on receiving the minister’s first letter on May 20. “No report/response received from ACS (UD) in this regard so far.”
Though it did not contain the status report, it mentioned that the issue of waterlogging in Delhi is “under active consideration” of the high court since February and departments concerned have filed their action taken reports before the Integrated Drainage Management Cell which then submitted those to the court.
“Sutradhar is the word used. CBI is poetic….The first time excise policy went into making is 4-9-2020. There were nine expert committees for one year. These included four departments…After one year, in July 2021, for the first time, policy is published. At least 50 bureaucrats were involved,” Singhvi said.
He also said that the policy was not only signed by Kejriwal but also by then LG Anil Baijal and from that logic, the former LG and the bureaucrats involved in the process should also be made an accused. “You're trying to catch me by presumptions and hypothesis,” Singhvi said

AI means new opportunities, not jobs lost
It will undermine the likelihood of your AI adoption project’s success. If, by now, you have gained good business insight on AI, you know that it’s your obligation to invest more—more time, more money—in creating better, more-human-focused jobs for your workers, both because it’s the right thing to do and because the long-term costs of not doing it are significant. The most successful companies are those that invest heavily in their people when the AI adoption project starts.

Relatives of an Indian man who died in Russia have said he was killed after being forced to fight in the war against Ukraine, and are petitioning the government to bring his body back to his village in the northern Haryana state.Ravi Moun, 21, travelled to Russia in January after being contacted by an agent who promised him a job in the transport sector, his relatives told Reuters.
Once there, however, he was forced to fight in the war.
Moun's family last spoke to him on March 12 and had been trying to contact the government for help in tracking him down ever since, they said.
"If he (Moun) knew he would have to fight, he would not have gone...why would he go where death could be waiting?" said Sonu Mator, his cousin, adding that the family needed the government's help to bring back the body.
"We do not have the money to arrange for it ourselves," Mator said.
A letter from the Indian Embassy in Moscow last week informed Moun's relatives of his death without elaborating on the circumstances under which he died, according to The Indian Express newspaper.
