Whatever countries have developed in the world today, teachers have the biggest role behind that development. In America, all girls went to school in 1890. In Japan, a law for education for all children was passed in 1903. Singapore, which was very poor 40-50 years ago, today has a new Singapore in front of everyone on the strength of education. We too will have to take many revolutionary steps to build a new and developed India.
In countries like Germany and Switzerland, the annual income of teachers is around 70-71 lakhs, in #India the income of #teachers is much less, a teacher's salary should be more than any government official: #AAP leader #ManishSisodia

A group of disappointed employees of capital markets regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) on Thursday, September 5, held a protest outside the Mumbai headquarters demanding the removal of the watchdog's Wednesday statement and the resignation of their boss Madhabi Puri Buch. According to a report by The Economic Times, SEBI's assertion that its staff are being misguided by ‘external forces’ angered the resentful employees further, causing them to stage a silent protest outside the office under the media glare.

A teacher should get paid more than an IAS, says Manish Sisodia

Talking about his incarceration in Tihar jail, Sisodia says he spent 8-10 hours every day reading books and learning about the education system of different countries

Today, there is a lot of talk about India of 2047. The teachers who are sitting here today, the children you have with you are very important for 2047. The India of 2047 depends on these children. But even policy makers have to do something for them," Sisodia said.

"In most developed countries, the salary of teachers is more than the bureaucrats there. A teacher with five years of experience draws more salary than an IAS officer with five years of posting," he added, citing examples of Germany, Switzerland and a few other countries.

Nutrients are the building blocks of the human body’s health and getting adequate amounts to meet one’s bodily needs is vital. However, according to a recent study in The Lancet, most Indians are consuming less than the required number of nutrients. While the Indian palate includes an array of foods, nutritional deficiencies are a common occurrence in both children and adults, due to dietary patterns, socioeconomic status and regional variations.

DEFICIENCIES IN OUR DIETS

According to Ashish Rani, clinical dietitian and head of Nutrition and Dietetics at SGT Medical College and Hospital, most Indians are deficient in iron, calcium and folate. “Sun exposure, crucial for vitamin D synthesis, is often inadequate. Additionally, phytates found in staples such as whole grains and legumes, can inhibit zinc absorption,” he explains. Not consuming the right amount of micro and macronutrients can lead to irreversible damage in the long term. To make matters worse, many are trading organic food for readily available, processed foods.

Eating smaller, more frequent meals can be beneficial especially for those with digestive issues. Dr Nisha Mandal, nutritionist at Motherhood Hospital, also suggests soaking, sprouting, or fermenting plant-based foods for better nutrient absorption. “Managing your stress will also reduce the depletion of nutrients from the body,” she adds.

Thousands of students and others on Thursday rallied in Bangladesh’s capital to mark one month since former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was ousted from power by a mass uprising initially led by students over a quota system for government jobs.

Hasina fled to India on Aug. 5 after weeks of violence left more than 600 people dead, including students. The uprising ended the 15-year-rule of the country’s longest-serving prime minister who began a fourth consecutive term in January following an election boycotted by the major opposition parties, who questioned the credibility of the electoral process.

The demonstrators chanted slogans such as “Where is Hasina? Bury her, bury her!” and “Hasina-Modi, warning, be careful!” or “Naraye Takbeer, Allahu Akbar.”

They were referring Narendra Modi, India’s prime minister, as Hasina is known to be a trusted ally of India. Many protesters do not like India for promoting Hinduism and demonstrating what they see as a big brotherly dominance, and condemned it for sheltering Hasina.

The researchers found no increase in risk for cancers such as glioma and salivary gland tumours despite years of mobile use among subjects.

In July the Wikimedia Foundation released a statement on the case filed by ANI, identifying itself as a "technology host" that does not add to or edit Wikipedia content.

The court was hearing a case filed by ANI claiming defamation by Wikipedia for allowing certain edits to a page with information about the news agency. The alleged edit referred to ANI as "the propaganda tool" of the Indian government. The court had ordered Wikipedia to reveal details about three accounts that made the edits, but ANI claimed today this has not been revealed.

"The All India Bank Employees Association has revealed, through publicly available data, how public sector banks that had claims of about Rs 62,000 crore from 10 financially stressed companies have been made to settle for just Rs 16,000 crore after the non-biological PM's favourite business group took over these 10 companies," Ramesh said.

THE INDIAN STATE has become defiantly lawless in pursuit of its open hostility against a section of its citizens. Since 2019, bulldozers have evolved into a marker of this celebratory state lawlessness. These now feverishly popular icons symbolise the muscular and unapologetically partisan exercise of state power, in both the discourse and practice of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party.

Stung by leftover inventory and unsure about consumer spending, India's auto dealers are worried about having to discount more to boost demand in the upcoming festive season, a representative of the dealers' body said on Thursday.
