Hero bicycles worth ₹4,200 were bought for ₹6,957.

That means nearly ₹3,000 commission was earned per bicycle.

A promise made to Punjab’s women. A promise delivered with pride.

Under the Mawan-Dheeyan Satkaar Yojana, Punjab’s women have received three months’ assistance in advance: ₹3,000 for women from the General Category and ₹4,500 for women from the SC Category.

In Punjab, AAP has fulfilled every promise it made.

Another important demand is the repeal of Section 39A, which is being used to facilitate projects opposed by local communities. The government must ensure that Goa’s land and natural resources are protected and that the interests of Goans are given priority over those of builders and contractors.”

India is considering restricting ‌the amount of sugarcane used for ethanol in the season beginning October to boost sugar output and try to calm record prices, two government and two industry sources said.
Reduced rainfall in Maharashtra and Karnataka, India's biggest sugarcane-producing states, has raised concerns about next ​year's sugar output, the sources said, declining to be named because the deliberations are not public.

As parliament on Monday (August 10) passed an amendment Bill that would allow the government to levy merchant charges on some Unified Payment Interface (UPI) transactions, finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that “every Indian will continue to make this instant digital payment without paying a transaction charge”.

“Will consumers pay any UPI charge? No,” Sitharaman said Monday in the Rajya Sabha, which discussed the Taxation and Other Laws (Amendment) Bill of 2026 and subsequently returned it to the Lok Sabha.
Once parliament passes the amendment Bill, the UPI and services steering committee will decide whether a merchant discount rate should be levied and, if yes, its scope and structure, Sitharaman said.
