In the recusal application, Shri Arvind Kejriwal presented 10 points before the honorable court. One of the simple points among them, which is generally understandable, is that Justice Swarnkanta Sharma has two children. Both children are lawyers on the central government's panel, who practice in the Supreme Court and High Court. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, who represents the ED and CBI in Shri Kejriwal's case, decides which lawyer on the panel gets how many cases.
On this, Shri Kejriwal had said, “This creates a doubt in my mind that this is a conflict of interest.” Because of this benefit, a reasonable apprehension arises in our minds about whether this court will not be biased while deciding in favor of or against that Solicitor General. An average of at least 47 women and girls were killed each day during the war in Gaza, according to figures published by U.N. Women on Friday, and the agency warned that deaths have continued six months into a fragile ceasefire.
More than 38,000 women and girls were killed in Gaza between October 2023 and December 2025, according to the report by U.N. Women, an agency that focuses on gender equality.
