  1. Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL) was formally excluded from Norway's $2+ trillion Government Pension Fund Global (managed by Norges Bank Investment Management) on February 26, 2026, citing severe risks of "gross corruption or other serious financial crime.
    Offloaded Stakes: Prior to the ban, the sovereign fund held a 0.23% stake in Adani Green, valued at roughly $43.9 million (approximately ₹400 crore). Following standard protocol, the fund divested its entire holding and is barred from reinvesting until the ban is officially lifted.Resilient Domestic Backing: While the fund withdrew its capital, Indian domestic mutual funds counterbalanced the exit. Domestic institutional holdings in AGEL grew significantly through 2025 and early 2026.The Counter-Narrative: Adani Group industry advocates argued that the move was an effort by a fund natively built on fossil fuel and petroleum revenues to pressure an emerging market renewable energy leader.
    Adani Green is the second Adani Group enterprise to face a blacklisting by the fund.Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ) was banned in May 2024.The Reason: APSEZ was excluded due to an "unacceptable risk" of contributing to human rights violations in war and conflict zones. This stemmed specifically from its ownership of a port terminal in Myanmar, where the military junta overthrew the democratically elected government.
