Amid the debate on E-20 petrol, the CIC is strict, directing to provide complete information on ethanol and oil imports under RTI.
The Central Information Commission has directed the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell, a unit of the Petroleum Ministry, to make public historical data related to petrol production and imports, ethanol procurement and blending, and petroleum sector profits. The CIC's order comes amid a debate in the country over E-20 (petrol blended with 20 percent ethanol).
The direction was issued to provide information to an RTI applicant as the Commission found that the PPAC provided only partial information.

The British government has called it "the UK's biggest and most economically significant bilateral trade pact" since leaving the EU, with its GDP estimated to increase by 0.13%, equivalent to £4.8bn ($6.4bn), and India's by 0.06%, or £5.1bn per year in the long run because of the deal.
