While I was a minister, in the year 2024, I had ordered the Chief Secretary to conduct a Third Party Audit of the desilting of drains. Regarding this, I had filed an RTI. The response that came was that no record was found regarding your RTI. Now, regarding this, a hearing was held today, in which these orders were searched for on the server, but they were all missing. For the past 21 days, Aam Aadmi Party workers and the Punjab government have been together providing every possible service to the people here. Those who needed to be evacuated have been safely brought out, and for those who are still staying in their homes, food, fodder for animals, and all necessities for safe living are being delivered to them every morning. It was satisfying to see that every worker, MLA, MP of the Aam Aadmi Party, and the entire government is engaged in human service with complete dedication and loyalty.

On the 6th day of the hearing of the Presidential Reference, the Supreme Court orally observed that certain instances of delay in granting assent to Bills cannot justify the laying down of a blanket timeline for the Governors and President to act as per Articles 200 and 201of the Constitution respectively. If there are individual cases of delay, the aggrieved parties can approach the Court to seek relief, and the Court may direct that the decision should be taken within a time limit; however, it cannot mean that the Court should lay down a general timeline for the actions of the Governor and the President, the Court verbally said.
