AAP to send flood relief to Punjab daily, says Arvind Kejriwal as dispatch begins Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal said that the party leaders will take relief materials from Delhi to flood-hit Punjab every day until needed. Party's Delhi state president Saurabh Bharadwaj led the first consignment dispatched today.

Our Punjabi, Sikh brothers are the first to open langar anywhere in the world in times of distress be it natural calamity or war. We are sending first lot of relief materials to Punjab from Delhi. Yet, there is still a possibility that the water will recede, and life can start anew. But an even bigger problem is that the rivers have so much water that they are sweeping away lush fields to carve their own paths. In every region, in every village, rivers have washed away 40–50 acres of crop fields.The issue here is that while the water may eventually subside, the fields cannot be restored.

138 newly recruited doctors have been deployed on a 15-day emergency duty in flood-affected areas, even before issuing their formal appointment letters. The appointment letter ceremony has been postponed because of flood relief work.

The Supreme Court’s five-judge Constitution Bench led by Chief Justice of India B.R. Gavai is continuing the hearing of the Presidential Reference on whether fixed timelines can be imposed on Governors and the President for giving assent to State bills.
