Madhya Pradesh Police has replaced the Dial 100 service with the new 112 emergency number, for which they have acquired 1,200 new vehicles. This includes 600 Scorpio and 600 Bolero models. Vehicles that typically cost between 30 to 40 lakh rupees in the market have been bought by the government for more than one crore rupees each. With a total expenditure of 1,500 crores for 1,200 vehicles that's ₹1.08 crore per car. ( Meanwhile if we look at the Haryana government procurement of new cars for Haryana Police that's only ₹14 lakh per car only. )
